Do you support Microsoft FrontPage? Yes, we fully support FrontPage. To activate FrontPage extensions all you need to do is to log into your easy to use control panel and click on FrontPage and install. Then extensions will be live right away. You need extensions if you are going to upload your webpages to your website via FrontPage.

I have just ordered, when can I expect my website to be live ? If you have ordered a transfer of an existing website, then you will receive your welcome email which includes how to complete the transfer normally within 8 hours. If you have ordered a new website, you will still receive your welcome email within 8 hours, however, your new domain name has to be registered with the worlds computers and this takes between 2-4 days. However, you can still work on your website in the time being as we provide a temporary link until your domain name goes live.

Are your servers reliable? Our servers are UNIX based which means they are very reliable indeed. We aim to achieve 100% uptime constantly and are continually working to improve every aspect of our service. We are so confident with how reliable our servers are that we offer a 99.9% uptime guarantee.

How do I access my control panel? Your control panel goes live as soon as you receive our welcome email. If your website was www.mysite.com, your control panel would be http://mysite.com/cpanel - please note however that if you have ordered a transfer of an existing website it can take 2-4 days for your website and control panel to become live. In such circumstances we provide a temporary address for you to access your control panel so that you can get working on your website ASAP.

Do you allow adult web sites? No adult sites are allowed.

Is there a demo of what I will be able to do? Yes. You can click here to see a demo of the control panel. Username is demo and password is demo. Unfortunately, the most useful function called Fantastico is not available in the demo due to restrictions of installing the many functions it offers. But there are over 50 additional things available with Fantastico including shopping carts, content management systems, blogs, message boards, and many more with a simple click of the mouse.

Why Month-To-Month Available? The main reason for this is so you don't feel tied down in a long-term contract. While discounts are available for signing up for long term, this allows you to sign up and just pay by the month. And you are free to cancel at anytime you so desire. Another company had only annual subscriptions available and went out of business while a lot of customers were only a few months into their contract. We do not want you to get into that same trap and must warn you against going with a company that only allows annual subscriptions.

 

I just registered my domain but it's not on my registrar of choice. Why? Once your domain is active, you will be able to log in and transfer it to another registrar after 60 days. If you do transfer it to another registrar, you will not be able to monitor it through your account control panel here but through whatever registrar you use. This decision rests solely on you as you are the owner of the domain. Remember the domain information will be your contact information you give us so make sure it is accurate. If you need help with the transfer and run into any problems, open up a support ticket with us and we will try to assist in the transfer process.

 

My account was suspended due to non-payment. I just paid my bill and still suspended. Why? If you pay your bill, it can take upto 24 hours for our automated system to get the information. However, you can try to open a support ticket and one of our sales representatives will see if the process can be handled manually so your site will be back online as soon as possible.

 

Do I get anything for referring another customer to HomeWeb X? Yes, you will be awarded a month's value of service for each referral you make after the referred is here for a month. And that includes even yourself if you want to add another separate account. This does not apply to adding another domain to your existing account. Let's say you are hosting xxx.com with us and want to add yyy.com separately so they have their own control panel, cgi-bin, etc.  Your account xxx.com would be credited for the referral of yyy.com account even though it's your account as well.

 

Can I use a service such as Google Apps to allow me to have more e-mail accounts? This is totally up to you. The number of e-mail on a package is referring to e-mail accounts set up on our servers. Many use Google Apps with our service.

 

Does your servers have the latest versions installed? Under most circumstances, this is a yes and also no. The environment (MySQL, Apache, PHP, etc) we try to stay up to date but may be one version behind due to testing them running on our servers. The programs installed by CPanel is not under our control to be up to date due to that is determined by the makers of CPanel. If you are comfortable installing items to your site manually, it would be best for you to install them manually from the maker's site.
